The Doggy Dash, one of the Sacramento SPCA’s most anticipated events. This fundraising event allows canines to team up with their human companions in a scenic fun walk to help raise money for the shelter animals. After the walk, participants stroll through Vendors’ Row, where they may purchase products and get information from their favorite pet specialty shops and other area businesses. Plus, participants and their canine cohorts can compete in a frisbee contest or the Pup Show, or take a seat on the sidelines as they watch demonstrations and entertainment from agility groups and more.
This was one really fun event, we got to see all sorts of cute dogs and their owners stop by our photo booth! What hilarious photos!
We went with the red and white backdrop for this event to remind us of old festive carnival days, so appropriate for such a fun event with your pup! The bright colors really did make the people and their pups pop!
The 20th Annual Doggy Dash and Bark at the Park Festival was held on Saturday, June 8th in beautiful William Land Park. An estimated 5,000 animal enthusiasts gathered both with and without their canine companions to raise funds for animals sheltered at the Sacramento SPCA. For 19 years, two- and four-legged participants have attended this event, creating a tradition in Sacramento and transforming Doggy Dash into one of the biggest “can’t miss” events of the year!
People stayed after the Dash for the Bark at the Park Festival, where you can enter your canine pal in the Pup Show, high-flying Disc Contest, or our ever-popular Pug Races! Visit with pet-friendly businesses, learn about Sacramento-area animal rescue organizations, or just have lunch while watching all the action.
The event was a huge success, the SPCA raised over $200,000! Thanks for all the volunteers, fundraisers, pledges, contributors, sponsors and more!
